What is Ethnik by Artisans?
A fusion of Business, Heritage Craftsmanship and Philanthropy
Ethnik by Artisans is a mindful business model with the purpose of socio-economic empowerment in developing countries where we work alongside talented artisan partners to create an authentic experience for you as a customer; an experience that is more honest, transparent and more authentic.
Ethnik by artisans is about delivering meaningful products; products that are aesthetically beautiful but at the same time contribute back to the community where it’s sourced from. Ethnik by Artisans is about creating an experience that will evoke an emotional response in the wearer, that is why we like to call each product in ethnik by artisans as a work of art.
"It isn’t enough just looking for the quality in the products we buy, we must ensure that there is quality in the lives of the people who make them." - Orsola De Castro

The Founder's Story:
Travelling to one of the most remote regions of Nepal(The Himalayas in the backdrop)
Born and raised in Nepal I have always loved traveling around the streets of Kathmandu on my motorbike. Travel, the places I have been to, and People, the stories that they have shared, have always been one of the biggest sources of inspiration for me.
Kathmandu is renowned for its craftsmen, artists, and architects beautiful traditional form of art surrounds the alleyways of Kathmandu. Kathmandu is all; medieval, spiritual, modern, peaceful, chaotic and alive. There is an excitement in traveling through the alleyways witnessing time-worn temples, and the beautiful display of art and architecture.
Art and Creativity have always been an integral part of me, and so far I have expressed it through music, photography, and design. I believe art and creativity is engrained in all of us it just seeking a medium of expression.
Ethnik is my medium of expression of art and creativity inspired by people, and by places that I have traveled; I want to take on the role of an artist and I want you to be the perceiver and through Ethnik I want to create an authentic experience, for you, that I hope will evoke an emotional response.
About the picture above - It was taken during my travel to one of the most remote regions of Nepal closer to Tibet called Lo-manthang, also known as the Forbidden Kingdom, it is one of the best places I have ever traveled and a journey that has inspired me in many ways–I'll shortly be posting a blog on this subscribe or follow us on our social media channels.
A need for a mindful Business Model
There is a need for businesses to try and be mindful towards each step of the supply chain, making sure that:
- The products are ethically made and the workers fairly paid so that they enjoy what they do
- Ensure that the materials are of the finest quality, and their origin is known and can be tracked
- Be sustainable as much as possible –read about our packaging
Ethnik is about seeking authenticity. Our products are made by talented artisan partners in developing countries, who are fairly paid and enjoy what they do. Also, we have partnered with UCEP (Underprivileged Children’s Educational Program), a non-profit organization in Nepal dedicated to the social well-being of underprivileged children. We are giving 10% of our profits for the social well-being of underprivileged children in Nepal. Read more about our Impact here.
Through Ethnik I want each purchase to be meaningful and impactful.
