There are several factors that can influence the wear and tear of Jewellery. We have some tips to keep your favorite piece of wearable art looking its best so that you can enjoy it for years to come.
What Should I avoid?
Your Jewellery is quite prone to damage from chemicals that are present in hairsprays, perfume, body oils, suntan lotion as well as a deodorant.
It is always best to know:
“Jewellery should be the last thing you put on and the first thing you take off when dressing up”.
What can Erode my Jewellery?
Chlorine, salt water, and even fresh water can damage precious metals by eroding them or dulling the beautiful shine they have. Gold especially is quite susceptible to damage from Chlorine, which can permanently damage or discolor them.
The Metal can seem dull if used with soapy water, that is why we recommend that you take off rings when washing your hands.
Cleaning your Jewellery:
We recommend cleaning your Jewellery with a soft lint-free cloth that is non-abrasive. We do not recommend using any Jewellery polishing clothes which are treated with polishing/cleansing agents.
